Hi Keith
Thanks so much for those great photos from the past. Where did you get them from?
I'm trying to figure out where these photos were taken. We rented a house for a while when we first arrived in Macau in 1961. Then we moved into a house my parents bought on Trav de afonso Henriques.
Can you figure out which house these came from Frank?
I think you still have those nesting tables in the background behind you as you are getting your haircut, right?
Thanks a lot Keith. How you ever saved these photos is amazing!!!

I think these photos are of the house dad purchased. I have no memories of the house we rented in 1961. I don't have the nested tables in the photo but might have the vase on top. We have one similar looking plain light green vase. These are wonderful photos especially the one of me getting a haircut! Did you take that one Keith? You were quite an avid photographer. All your photos complement Ernie's diary quite nicely as a treasure troth bringing back many misplaced memories. It's great that you both preserved these windows into our past so well to now be shared after almost half a century.

Best Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank
You must remember the house we rented near the "Lyceum" (the indoor sports stadium)
We lived upstairs and the owner, his wife, their daughter and her 5 girls lived downstairs. The owner bought a little puppy and use to whip him really badly. Guess he was trying to make a vicious watch dog out of him.
We weren't there very long. Mom and dad bought the house on Trav de Afonso Henriques not long after that and we moved.

Hi Ernie,

Now that you mension it I do remember. There was the old man who was very mean to the puppy. I can still remember him. I also remember something about girls but am more vague. However I have no recollection of where the house was. Thank for refreshing my memory.

Best Regards,
Frank

I remember I use to fly kites from the roof of the rental house. Back then I was really into flying kites. We would take a glass bottle and grind the glass into tiny bits. Then we'd mix it with paste and draw the kitestring through the mixture to coat it with glass.
When we flew our kites we would often engage in "battles" with other kit flyers to see who could 'cut" the other persons kite strings with our glass coated cord.
Great fun!!!
